Cheapest first. A portable dehumidifier is the right answer for one damp room and the wrong answer for a whole villa. Figures below are as UAE retailers and reviewers printed them in late 2026.
What a portable costs and does
Prices as printed on UAE retail pages on the research dates: Pro Breeze 12 L at AED 539.99, Pro Breeze 20 L at AED 699.99 to 849, LG 30 L inverter at AED 2,299. A 12 to 20 L unit treats one room of roughly 30 to 70 m² per listing and collects water in a 1.8 to 5.5 L tank.
Where portables fall short
- A 20 L unit can fill its tank in under a day in peak summer.
- Whole-villa control often requires several units in key zones.
- Nothing runs while the tank is full and you are abroad.
What a ducted system does
One unit above the false ceiling or in a plant room, connected to every room by its own ducts, plumbed to a condensate drain and controlled to a humidity set-point. It works while the house is empty for six weeks. See the recirculating ducted dehumidifier.
The break-even
No UAE page prints an installed price for a ducted system, and ours is on request until an engineer has sized it (see pricing). Compare it with two or three portables, daily emptying, a remediation quote (a cleaning-company snippet cited over AED 15,000) and the furniture residents reported throwing away.
Key points
- Portables cost about AED 540 to 850 for 12 to 20 L models and around AED 2,299 for a 30 L inverter unit, as printed by UAE retailers in late 2026.
- A 20 L portable treats one room and can fill its tank in under a day in August.
- A ducted system treats the whole home from the ceiling void, drains to waste and needs no emptying.
- Our installed prices are on request until a real quote exists.
