Series A: electrostatic air purifier for the AC return

An in-duct electrostatic air purifier fitted at the AC return. A washable pre-filter, an ionising section and collection plates capture dust, pollen and fine particles from the whole return-air flow. For dust and allergens, not humidity: pair it with Series R for humidity control.

System details

Filters the whole return-air flow

Series A sits in the AC return duct or at the return grille. Return air passes a washable pre-filter, then an ionising section that charges particles, then collection plates that hold them. Dust, pollen and fine particles are removed from all the air the AC moves, not just one room.

It is the one system in the range that connects to the AC side, because it filters the AC's own return air. It does not dehumidify.

  • Fitted at the AC return
  • Washable pre-filter and washable collection plates
  • Low pressure drop so the AC airflow is kept
  • No dehumidification

Where the unit sits and how the air moves

Only the grilles and the wall controller stay visible. The unit, its ducts and its drain are above the ceiling.

    At the AC return

The module is sized to the return duct or grille and installed in the return path, with access for cleaning. Module sizes: on the datasheet.

    Three stages in the module

Washable pre-filter for coarse dust, ionising section to charge the particles, collection plates to hold them. The AC's own fan moves the air.

    Power and indicator

A low-power supply to the ionising section (rating on the datasheet) and a cleaning indicator within sight. No drain is needed.

Published figures only

Every row below comes from the manufacturer datasheet at its stated test conditions. A row without a published figure is marked, never guessed. Competitor pages in the UAE list contradictory filtration specs; ours cite the sheet.

The manufacturer datasheet for this family has not been published yet, so no figure is shown here: capacity, airflow, sound level and power are quoted per project after the survey, and the table fills in the day the datasheet arrives.

Installation requirements (for professionals)

What the MEP consultant or contractor needs to reserve before the unit arrives. Exact values are on the datasheet; our team confirms them on the survey.

  • Return duct or grille

Module matched to the return size and airflow. Sizes: on the datasheet.

  • Access for cleaning

An access panel large enough to remove the plates and pre-filter.

  • Power

Low-power supply to the module; the rating is on the datasheet.

  • Pressure drop

Checked against the AC fan so the airflow is kept. Value: on the datasheet.

Engineering limits

Stated plainly, so nobody buys the wrong thing.

  • Does not dehumidify. For humidity control add Series R.
  • Does not cool and does not change the AC's capacity.
  • Does not remove mould that has grown in the ducts; duct cleaning first.
  • Sized to the return-air flow, which the survey measures.

Questions about this system

Short answers. The full list of questions is on the FAQ page.

Does Series A reduce humidity?

No. It removes dust, pollen and fine particles from the AC return air. For humidity control it is paired with Series R.

How is it different from a portable air purifier?

A portable unit cleans the air of one room and needs floor space and filter replacements. Series A treats all the air the AC moves, is hidden in the return duct and has washable plates instead of consumable filters.

Does it slow the AC airflow?

It adds a pressure drop that is checked against the AC fan during the survey; the datasheet figure is listed above once published.

How often is it cleaned?

On the datasheet interval, sooner in dusty months. The pre-filter and plates are washed, dried and refitted; an indicator shows when cleaning is due.
